\u201cTo be beautiful, you must suffer in lurex.\u201d That seems to be the diktat of Spring\/Summer 2027, which will mark the return of the world\u2019s most famous metallic synthetic yarn to the runways.<\/p>\n

Anyone who attended Milano Unica could hardly have missed it \u2014 \u201cunique\u201d seemed to be the <\/strong>ubiquitous keyword<\/strong>. Twills woven with lurex yarns, denim embellished with lurex inserts and embroidery, printed organzas highlighted with lurex details, tone-on-tone jacquards featuring metallic threads \u2014 and when it came to accessories, surprise surprise: tubular trims and shimmering ribbons with lurex and sequins. In short: lurex everywhere. So much so that I can almost feel the itch as I write.<\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n\n <\/section>\n\n\n

FROM SS26 TO SS27: TRENDS AREN\u2019T ABOUT HOLDING BACK<\/h4>\n \n

Contrasting prints layered together, garments, colours and patterns superimposed, the metallic richness of jewellery paired with the airy fluidity of lurex georgette: everything in \u201cEtro<\/strong> Flux<\/strong>\u201d \u2014 the collection presented at last year\u2019s Milan Fashion Week by Creative Director Marco De Vincenzo \u2014 was designed to amplify chromatic and textural maximalism<\/strong>. And <\/strong>with SS27 \u2014 fuelled by the renewed liaison between fashion and metallic fabric, spotlighted at Milano Unica and Pitti Filati \u2014 we can only expect even more radiant looks<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n\n <\/section>\n\n\n
