History

Jersey Lomellina SpA was founded in 1977: in the wake of the success of Carvico SpA (manufacturers of warp knitted fabrics), Giuseppe Colnaghi launched a new business specializing in the production of elasticized circular knitted fabrics, ideal for underwear, swimwear, sports and leisure wear.

At the beginning, Jersey Lomellina produced circular knit elasticized cotton LYCRA® fabrics, but it was 1988 that marked the turning point that would bring it word-wide success: at the end of the ‘eighties, Jersey Lomellina changed from the production of elasticized cotton fabrics to innovative fabrics in microfibra, becoming an international leader in the circular knit fabrics industry.

Thanks to the new microfibre fabrics, which were considered ultra-modern for those times, Jersey Lomellina revolutionized the circular knitting industry and launched the era of elasticized microfibre.

Over the years, Jersey Lomellina’s offer has grown considerably, and is still in constant evolution.

The on-going process of technological innovation, the efficient Research & Development Department, the careful selection of raw materials and its highly-qualified staff mean the company is able to stay one step ahead of market and fashion trends and to stand out from its competitors by offering practical, glamorous, and absolutely innovative fabrics.

The "Made in Italy" culture, the development of a widespread sales network throughout the world and its strong drive to innovate allow Jersey Lomellina to still aim for even greater growth; the company presently has an annual turnover well in excess of 40 million Euro.

President Laura Colnaghi Calissoni and a highly-capable management team are very proud to be at the helm of one of the leading manufacturers of circular knitted elasticized fabrics with that unmistakable Italian style.
