Glossary

A number of terms used in the circular knitting industry and many other acronyms and technical expressions are used on the Jersey Lomellina SpA site that may not be familiar.

By putting together a glossary full of technical terms and recurring acronyms, Jersey Lomellina SpA aims to provide clear definitions of some of the more specific textile terminology in order to learn more about the circular knitting and elasticized jersey fabrics industries.

FIBRE

Set of fibrous products that have the property of fusing together, through spinning, into thin, strong and flexible yarns.

FINISHING

Process that allows the ennobling of fabrics.

FEATHER WEIGHT

Lightweight fabric.

FASTNESS VALUES

Assessment scale from 1 (worst condition) to 5 (best condition) that expresses the degree of fading of a dyed fabric or the change in colour of the same.
